We did not have a clear picture of what target group we wanted to work with from the beginning. After spending the first in class time researching different target groups online, mostly by reading articles found in the database KTH primo, we found out that there were lots of articles and previous research regarding different technical solutions developed for youths and children. However, to our astonishment, there were not at all as many articles about technology and elders. We discussed this, and found the subject very interesting since in our previous experiences, the group of people that usually are most alienated to new technology are elders. Thus, we wanted to dedicate our product to them, and come up with a solution that can integrate elders more to contemporary technology.
Characteristics that many elderly people possesses:
- poor vision/hearing
- restricted mobility
- slow reflexes
- not very technical capable
- lots of time to spend, not stressed
